So excited! Dawn finally and officially releases tomorrow! (August 9)

I'm expecting there'll be some great newsletters from all the supporting sites in my mailbox tomorrow, too! There have been a couple of popular Rendo vendors that have been very quiet on the Dawn subject, and they haven't released anything lately for V4, either. I'm putting on my conspiracy theory hat that maybe they will be surprising us with releases for Dawn. And RDNA is giving sneak peaks of Dawn items five at a time until midnight!
It'll be so nice to have a new figure to play with. I've gotten more than my dollar's worth out of V4 and V4WM, but I'm overly tired of using the same figure over and over. I've gotten so lazy in re-using my morphed characters that I can't remember the last time I spun a completely new facial morph from base V4. I just tweak what I've already got. So it'll be a welcome challenge to create new character morphs for my RP characters again. I imagine I'll be using a mix of V4 and Dawn for a while to come, depending on what I'm creating an image of. I won't recreate my legacy RP figures, but move forward with the new ones.
Crossing my fingers that she lives up to the hype. I really want a new toy that is DSON-free!

Thank you for all of the birthday well wishes, I really appreciate it! Though not a major milestone this year, I was still finding this birthday hard. Getting older sucks. But you guys are so awesome.
My husband spoiled me silly, too. He got me tickets to two concerts... on the same weekend! I should probably book a day or two off work to prepare and recover. LOL (Delain with Hammerfall, and then Sabaton with Leaves' Eyes, Battle Beast, and Unleash the Archers)
He also got me a big gift certificate to an edgy hair salon, since I've been talking about doing something crazy with my hair like colouring it navy blue. I guess I should get
Goodbye 2016
What a year. It's been like watching my childhood and youth crumble away a death at a time.
The passing of Carrie Fisher today, in particular, has hit me hard. I guess because I'm such a Star Wars geek, having grown up on the original trilogy. Princess Leia was a huge part of my childhood, shaping my imagination. She was strong and brave, when so many heroines are just there to be pretty or a plot device for the hero. Gosh, I couldn't even tell you how many times my brother and I watched A New Hope. Every single day after school that tape went back into the player.
No getting around getting older. But hopefully 2017 will be a bit of
Puppy Time!
There really is no feeling like a snugly puppy in your arms. We finally got to bring our baby girl (Pepper the Keeshond) home on Thursday. We expected the worst... crying, whining, general misery, keeping us up all night, destroying the house... but she's taken the transition like a champ.
We still haven't decided if it's her specifically, or if it's the fact that we've done this before (albeit 16 years ago when our first dog was a puppy) that has made this an easy transition for all of us. And after a year without a dog, despite enjoying the freedom, the house feels right again. She has a long way to go and a lot of learning to do, but
Patience is a Virtue
I just have to be patient, enjoy my summer, and remember that time will pass. It always does and too quickly when you look back.
What has me so excited... PUPPIES!
My husband and I have finally decided it's time to fill that hole in our hearts again, and we reached out to a local breeder to ask if she would be having puppies any time soon. Turns out we found the nicest woman possible, and we are so excited about our bundle of joy who still won't even be born for a few weeks yet. And then we have to wait eight more weeks for him/her to be ready to go home.
She's already (easily) talked us into showing the puppy at the Keeshond specialty
